General Update

On Sunday I wasn't feeling well at all. I had intense stomach pains, my gastroparesis was flaring and my hip had been refusing to stay it.
Mum decided it was best to take me to the hospital. It was about time that I got my organs checked anyway. I was only in the Emergency room for 15 minutes before they put me on a bed so that I was more comfortable. The Emergency Room staff were excellent with me. The doctor told me not to bare any weight on my leg just incase I was doing more damage to it.
Within the hour they had admitted me to Ward 9A.
Because it was a Sunday my usual doctor wasn't around. A on call doctor came around and charted me for all of my meds.
By then it was getting late so they gave me my medications and put me in bed and Mum unpacked my overnight bag, said goodnight and said she would come back the next afternoon with some more things for me.
I then slept a bit in between waking up in pain, needing medication and nurses doing my obs. The nurses were all lovely.
The next morning (Monday) I had a tiny bit to eat but not much. I saw the rheumatologists, gastroenterologists, renal specalist, surgeons, dietitians and physiotherapists. That day was very busy!
On Tuesday I had a hip xray, a hip ultrasound and a renal ultrasound. I had physio but I did sleep a lot that day.
On Wednesday I walked a little bit for the first time since being admitted. It hurt and I was pretty wobbly on my feet but it was amazing to get to walk again.
I got the results of the renal ultrasound- I have healthy kidneys!! Yay!!
We got the results of the results of the hip xray and ultrasound. There was no damage to the hip! Yay!
Then a surgeon told me that I may have a disease called Hirschsprungs Disease. He said it is rare to see it in someone my age but that maybe it was missed as I look like a typical case of it. They will need to do a rectal biopsy and if it confirms the diagnosis they will do a surgery to fix it.
Thursday was a little bit quieter. They had me drink some medicines to make my bowel move. I had some visitors, which definitely cheered me up!
Thursday afternoon they put an NG tube in. It was a little bit uncomfortable but manageable
Today I was sent home. Because late last night I had a BM and they said it wouldn't hurt to have some time at home.
I have to go back to the hospital on Tuesday.

Thank you all for your support.. It does mean a lot and it helps me through the hard timems.
Just before I went into hospital I set up a facebook page. It came in handy while I was in the hospital because I could post to there from my mobile but I couldn't blog.
